This time of year can be tough for a lot of people and the important thing to know is that you are not alone. There is always someone to talk to or to reach out to if you are feeling like you are not coping very well. There are freephone numbers that people can call to talk to volunteers and if you are feeling very down you should go to your GP. I have included below some links to useful contacts for mental health supports.
I know that there can be waiting lists to access affordable counselling but the main thing is to reach out and tell someone that you are struggling. Your mental health matters, you matter and there are people out there who are fighting for improved access to mental health services for everyone. This would also be one of my priorities if I was elected to Seanad Éireann as your NUI Senator.
